Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Our coloured rubber bark is 100% wire-free, non-toxic and splinter-free, making it safe for children, pets and animals in general play and garden areas.
You can install it either way. Loose-fill is ideal for decorative areas and general play spaces. For paths, borders or high-traffic areas, you can mix it with resin for a bonded finish that stays firmly in place.
Each 10kg sack covers around 1m² at a 25mm depth. For a 50mm bonded surface, you will need 20kg of rubber bark and 4kg of resin per m².
The ideal mix is a 5:1 ratio (20% resin). This creates a strong, stable bonded surface while maintaining flexibility and drainage.
The colour coating is designed to be long-lasting and weather-resistant. While all outdoor materials age naturally, rubber bark holds its colour far longer than natural wood bark.
No. Unlike natural bark, rubber bark does not rot, decompose, attract pests or turn to mulch. It keeps its shape and appearance for years.
Yes. Rubber bark is fully permeable, allowing rainwater to drain through quickly. This helps prevent puddles, mud and slippery surfaces.
Maintenance is minimal. A quick rake or tidy-up is usually all that’s needed. It does not require annual topping-up like natural bark."}]}]}
